Judo is a Modern Martial art Combat Sport created Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano,the object is to either throw or takedown an opponent to the Ground,opponent with a grappling maneuver or force an opponent to submit by joint Loking or by executing a strangle hold or Choke,Strickes and thrusts by hands and feet as well as Weapons Defenses are a part of Judo,but only in pre arranged forms(Kata) are not allowed in Judo competition,Free practice(randon)
There are three basics category of Waza in Judo,nage -Waza =Throwing Techniques
Katame-Waza =Grappling Techniques
Atemi -Waza= Striking Techniques
Judo Most Known for Nage-Waza and Katame-Waza
Competition Scoring= A throw that places the opponent on back with impetus and control score an ippon Winning the contest.A less thrown onto his back,but with insufficient force to merit an ippon,scores a Waza-ari.Two scores of Waza-ari equal an ippon,A throw that places the opponent onto his side scores a Yuko,no amount of yukos equal aWaza-ari
